Projects

Our current projects support both the environment through encouraging pollinators and the wider community through donations to food banks.

Ashton Vale Pollinator Hub

In 2023 we received funding from WECA as part of their Pollinator fund to set up Ashton Vale Pollinator Hub – a physical hub including polytunnel, roundhouse and pollinator garden on our Alderman Moore’s site – as well as a commitment to increasing pollinator friendly plant coverage across the communal areas and non-tenanted areas of our sites.

In 2024 we plan to continue this work by propagating more plants for tenants to use on their own plots, as well as give some away to people and groups in the local Bristol area.We will also continue to tend the planted areas on our own sites.

Bountiful Bristol

Bountiful Bristol is a scheme run through HwDAA that gathers donated vegetables from allotment holders and disseminates them to food banks and food clubs around the city. More volunteers to run donations are always needed but we also have a designated space within our large polytunnel on Alderman Moore’s to grow food for the food bank itself.

There are many other ways you could help Bountiful Bristol grow as an organisation and support food security in Bristol. For more detail contact bountifulbris@gmail.com
